The Story, the Generations, and the Achievements

Of Jacob C.  and Conrad Hirschman

Out of Wuertemberg to Indiana, U.S.A.

           Our first knowledge of the Hirschmans begins in a small town in Wuerttemberg,
"Sulzbach on the Kocher River", about 90 km. northeast  from Stuttgart. In the year 1844
Johann Konrad Hirschman(n) married a young woman from the neighboring town of
Koenigsbronn. She was Anna Ursula Meier. They had five children. Those five children
are tabulated below.

Jakob Konrad immigrated to the U.S. soon after August 1868 and eight (8)   years later he
invited his brother Konrad to come over and join him.

It is known that Jakob ( now called Jacob) lived a short time in Mt. Carmel,  Illinois but soon
moved to Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.  There they founded Mattress Factories and
